Alright, let's get back on track here. The purpose of this article isn't to talk about golf, though I could easily be swayed when it comes to the interestingness of Jimenez. No, the purpose of this article is to talk about the NHL's most interesting man in the world. You have guys like Brent Burns who went from a clean shaven school boy to looking like Chewbacca in recent years. You have Ilya Bryzgalov with his love of the cosmos and fear of bears. All these guys are worthy candidates for the NHL's "Most Interesting Man," but known of them hold up to my pick.
Without a doubt, Evgeni Malkin is the guy. If you follow his Twitter or Instagram you know exactly what I'm talking about. The guy is an eccentric. The guy is funny. And let's be honest, Geno is just downright lovable. Not sold? Well here are a couple of examples to sway your opinion...
Deep Sea Geno
I'm sure you saw this one particular picture earlier in the summer. That is Evgeni Malkin, swimming with a whale shark somewhere around the globe. That's right, Geno goes swimming with sharks and leaves the protective cage at home. Though whale sharks are not considered dangerous to humans, it is still a shark! But hey, it's just Geno being Geno.
Judging by his actions on the deep seas, if hockey ever goes south for the guy, he could turn to a life of fishing or piracy even for a new profession. Interesting indeed!
Good Evening Mr. President
A few weeks following the tourney, the team met with Russian President, Vladimir Putin. This picture became an internet sensation within seconds and you can clearly see why. Geno's expression plus the finger point have become something of legend. They are up their with "Dufnering" and "Tebowing." It has created countless edits as well. See some of those below.
Only Malkin could make a picture so awesome and the fact that he did it with Putin, only adds to the intrigue.
Geno out and about
Sure you see guys around the sports world doing funny things and taking funny pictures, but are theirs any better than Geno's? I certainly don't think so. Frankly, if these pictures were of anyone else, would they even be that interesting? Not to me, which is just another reason why Geno really is the NHL's most interesting man.
Final Thoughts
He is just so much fun and you got to love that he is part of the Penguins organization. He continues to impress on the ice, and he certainly keeps us in stitches off of it. He is the man. He simply is the Most Interesting Man in the NHL, period.
